Subcontractors often carry out changes on a verbal instruction and price them later. A variation log records each change, who instructed it and its value, so it can be included in applications and the final account.
Who it is for
It is written for subcontractors and specialist trades who need to apply for payment on time, record changes as they happen and protect their payment rights under the Construction Act, whatever form of subcontract they have signed.
How to use it
Log each change with the instruction reference and date, then record the quoted and agreed values and status. Totals feed the application for payment, and the status summary shows what is still to be agreed.
