Under most building contracts the contractor submits an interim application before each valuation date, setting out the sum it considers due. A clear, well-supported application makes the valuation quicker and leaves a record if the amount is later disputed.
Who it is for
It is written for quantity surveyors, commercial managers and contractors running JCT projects who want a consistent, auditable paper trail from first valuation to final account, without building their own spreadsheets and letters from scratch on every job.
How to use it
Fill in the contract sum analysis with this period's progress, then add variations claimed, loss and expense and materials. The workbook totals the gross amount, deducts retention and previous payments, and shows the net sum applied for. The built-in payment dates calculator works out the due date, notice dates and final date for payment from the periods in your own contract.
